Course Description

Your 10K journey starts from Western Park which is on the opposite side of State Highway 1 from the finish area.

Important! Allow yourself plenty of time to safely cross the road and arrive at the start area in time for the safety briefing, ten minutes prior to the race start.

Thanks to a lane closure on Centreway Road, we will have plenty of space for everyone for the intial 1km blast north to Centreway Park. From there, you will turn south and run through the reserve and footpath by the creek to join up with the half marathoners at the Te Ara Tahuna walkway. Enjoy wide views of the Orewa River Estuary for the next 1.5km until you turn inland and reach the first aid station.

The next 3km thread through the local suburban streets until you reach the second aid station inside the Kensington Park Retirement Village (awesome support through here!) at 5.6km. From here, your own slight uphill is as you navigate the stunning boardwalk trails of Alice Eaves Scenic Reserve. Mind your head (!) as there are overhanging trees throughout this tranquil rainforest reserve.

Just past 6k you emerge out onto Old North Rd where a downhill run will take you to the underpass under State Highway 1. You now have a 3km blast south on Orewa Beach’s wide, hard packed sand before a final turn onto the new concrete utility path into the finish line. Congratulations, you made it!
